5 farmers end life in Telangana

Hyderabad: Five farmers committed suicide in Telangana state on Sunday due to indebtedness and fear of crop loss owing to deficient rains.
Two farmers from Medak district and one each from Mahabubnagar, Nizamabad and Warangal took their lives by consuming pesticide.
In Uppalingapur village of Veldurthi mandal of Medak district, 28-year-old farmer Gutti Srinivas committed suicide in his farm while, Dharavath Amriya, 55, from Sultanpur Tanda, consumed pesticide and was shifted to a local hospital. He was later shifted to Gandhi Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
In Mahbubnagar, 36-year-old Chandrasekhar, a tenant farmer, took the extreme step. He hailed from Ranga Reddy district.
In Timmanagar village of Nizamabad, a 32-year-old farmer consumed pesticide. Another farmer from Warangal, 40-year-old Vankudoth Shankar committed suicide in his farm.
