New Delhi: Ink was thrown at Jammu and Kashmir MLA Engineer Rashid outside the Press Club of India here on Monday. The perpetrators have not been indentified yet. He was swiftly escorted to safety.
The police has detained two people in connection with the ink attack on the MLA, they have been taken to Parliament street police station in Delhi.
Engineer Rashid on Monday dubbed the ink attack on him as 'undemocratic' and said this showed the ugly face of the radicals in India.
Rashid, who was attacked with ink outside the Press Club of India, said the world should now see how India treats Kashmiris.
"We want to tell India that see the ugly face of these radical forces. We will not succumb. We will fight till the end. This is Modi's India and not Gandhi's India," said Rashid.
"This is totally undemocratic. They say that Pakistan has ' talibanisation' but they should see what is happening in India," he added.
The independent MLA from Langate further said that every conscience bearing citizen would condemn this act.

"All we want to tell the people of India that see where you are headed to. These people are mentally ill. Kashmir has already lost 80,000 people. Throwing ink at Engineer Rashid will solve no purpose," he added.
Vishnu Gupta-led Hindu Sena has claimed responsibility for the attack on Rashid outside the Press Club of India. The protestors alleged that Rashid has insulted cow, considered to be mother.
The incident took place when the Jammu and Kashmir MLA had called a press conference.
Rashid was recently beaten up by the BJP MLAs inside the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly for allegedly hosting a beef party.
This comes close to the incident of black ink being thrown at former BJP aide Sudheendra Kulkarni in Mumbai before a book launch of former Pakistani minister.
