K Chandrasekhar Rao: More statues to come up on Tank Bund

He announced allotment of 10 acres of land on the city outskirts and Rs 10 crore for construction of buildings on the site

Hyderabad: Commending the services of the Reddy Jana Sangham in the city for the last 75 years, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday said that more statues of Telangana veterans would be installed on the Tank Bund. 
 
“Statues of veterans like Raj Bahadur Venkatarami Reddy, Ravi Narayana Reddy and Suravaram Pratap Reddy, who were the great sons of Telangana soil would be installed on the Tank Bund soon,” the Chief Minister said. 
 
It may be remembered that a statue of former Union minister and trade union leader G. Venkata swamy was unveiled at Ambedkar Park on the Tank Bund on October 5. 
 
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao complimented the Reddy Jana Sangham of Aliabad in the Old City for taking up welfare activities for the poor in the community for the last 75 years. 
 
Responding to requests by the organisers, he announced allotment of 10 acres of land on the city outskirts and Rs 10 crore for construction of buildings on the site. 
 
Lok Ayukta Justice Subhashini Reddy, Viswa Hindu Parishad International president G. Raghava Reddy, Telangana state home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and others attended the function.
