Finishing schools to train minority youth

Hyderabad: The Telangana state government has decided to offer finishing school training to B.Tech students belonging to minority communities of the state from this year. 
 
Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge (TASK), which comes under the Information Technology department, in collaboration with the minority welfare department will offer training exclusively for minority youth.
 
The decision was taken in a high-level meeting held recently. The meeting was attended by IT minister K.T. Rama Rao and officials of Task and minority welfare department, and the state minority finance corporation. 
 
M.J. Akbar, director of Directorate of Minorities Welfare, told this newspaper that 100 students who have completed their graduation in 2014-2015 with 70 per cent aggregate from 10th class to B.Tech were eligible to take part in the training. 
 
He said that the training was aimed at making the youngsters eligible for placements in various multinational companies. Task will provide the necessary infrastructure and faculty for the course. 
 
Mr Akbar said that the state minority finance corporation would provide classrooms and also working lunch to the students at the Haj House at Nampally.
