Ahmedabad: The spirit of Navratri seems to have got the better of the staff members of Sola Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, who were seen playing garba inside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), in front of ailing patients on Monday. A video of the hospital staff in the act has gone viral on social media and local news channels.

Earlier in the day, a dialysis centre was inaugurated in the hospital by Nitinbhai Patel. Patel is the Finance, Medical Education and Health and Family Welfare Minister of Gujarat. It was after Patel’s visit that the staff members started playing loud music and played garba to celebrate the opening of the centre. ICU rules demand silence. They also distributed sweets to the patients in the ward.

Hospital staff entered the premises with their shoes and slippers on, which is also not appropriate conduct in the ICU. It was only after the video of this incident went viral that it was brought to the notice of the hospital authorities.
