Panasonic launches tablet priced at Rs 2.4 lakh

Panasonic India launched a 20-inch tablet PC with 4K resolution display targeting niche customers like the doctors, film makers, designers, architects and others. The Toughpad FZ-Y1 20-inch tablet PC is priced Rs 2.4 lakh.

The tablet runs on Windows 8.1 Pro OS and has a Intel Core i5 vPro processor with 8 GB RAM. It weighs 2.41 kg.

“We have a share of 65 per cent in the about Rs 150-crore niche segment and we are hoping to increase it,” said Gunjan Sachdev, general manager and national business head, Panasonic India. Citing use cases, Sachdev said the tablet PC could be used for seeing medical reports.They could be used in film industry for preview. They also find a use in architecture and design works, which have a lot of detail.
