Mahesh teaches Alia to be more ‘giving’ as an actor

Alia Bhatt’s busy schedule leaves her with barely any time to spend with her family. Her father Mahesh Bhatt, however, makes sure to keep a tab on her work and give her some precious advice from time to time.

Alia says, “Recently, he saw my performance at ISL and he was very happy. After that, our conversation revolved around how I should be more giving. He believes that a true actor should be a giver and not a taker. His only advice was ‘Give to the audience, give to your team and not just because you are expecting something in return’. Dad believes that as an actor, I should be thinking about others at every stage — what my fans expect, what my team expects, rather than thinking about myself. So he’s always reminding me, you just need to give, give, give.”
