Cherian Philip takes on TN Seema over posts
Taunts her to fast over Delhi rape of minors
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Stung by the sharp criticism for his derogatory post against women, Mr Cherian Philip chose to take a dig at CPM MP T.N. Seema advising her to observe a fast in the national capital to protest sexual crimes against children.
The Rajya Sabha MP had severely criticised the CPM fellow traveller on his anti-women remarks on Facebook, about which he expressed regret later.
Ms Seema was among the CPM leaders who sought Mr Philip’s unconditional apology for humiliating women in public life. She even took the screen shot of a news reporter on her statement and posted on the site.
Clearly upset with her back-to-back posts against his remarks on her Facebook wall on Sunday, Mr Philip chose to take on the MP in a roundabout way.
“A few days ago a horrifying incident of gangrape of a two-year-old child was reported from the capital. With the administration totally ineffective, there is no rule of law. Harassment of women even in broad daylight has become the order of the day at many places. All mass organisations and women outfits need to take up this issue on priority. In order to create awareness among the people, Rajya Sabha MP T.N. Seema should ideally start an indefinite fast in Delhi,” Mr Philip advised on his Facebook page.
While Ms Seema is yet to react on his post, many on the Facebook came up with harsh criticism of his mischievous post on hunger strike. They mocked him for giving a new twist to the entire episode.
