Devaswom ombudsman can settle staff disputes
The court amended its 2007 order with regard to the duties of the Devaswom ombusman
Kochi: Kerala High Court on Tuesday empowered the Devaswom ombudsman to settle the disputes of Devaswom employees, including their personal grievances and salary dues.
The court amended its 2007 order with regard to the duties of the Devaswom ombusman. A division bench comprising Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice Anu Shivaraman also appointed Justice P.R. Raman as the next ombudsman after Justice R. Bhaskaran expressed his desire to be relieved from the duty.
The bench observed that there may be personal grievances of failure or delay to disburse indisputable outstanding to the employees or purely administrative matters in the transfer of them and other matters.
The personal grievances of the employees of Travancore Devaswom Board and Cochin Devaswom Board employees will come under the purview of the ombudsman, the court held.
The court asked TDB and CDB to comply with the order and observed that objections should be placed before the ombudsman who will place a report to the court.
