KCR to be cynosure of all eyes at Amaravati
TS CM is setting foot on Andhra soil for the second time
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will be cynosure of all eyes at the foundation stone laying ceremony for AP State’s new capital Amaravati on Dasara.
KCR will lead a six-member delegation comprising Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahamood Ali, finance minister Etala Rajender and energy minister A. Jagdish Reddy, besides three officials, including intelligence chief Shivdhar Reddy.
The Telangana CM is accorded VVIP reception by AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu with welcome arches and flexis at many places en route to the venue. KCR decision to attend Amaravati function at the personal invitation of AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has generated lot of excitement and debate in political circles, inclu-ding his own party TRS.
TS CM is setting foot on Andhra soil for the second time after the launch of separate Telangana movement in 2001 which created deep animosity between leaders and people of both states and finally achieved statehood in 2014. He had once visited Tirumala for darshan of Lord Venkate-swara during Telangana movement.
Sources said the TS Chief Minister, after an overnight stay at Surya-pet in Nalgonda district, will leave for Amaravati at 10.15 am by helicopter on Thursday. After attending the function at Amaravati, he will return to Suryapet at 2.30 pm the same day. Interestingly, KCR’s visit to Amaravati from friend-turned-political-foe comes in the wake of boycott by major opposition in AP.
KCR name to figure on plaque
It’s a perfect case of Telugu Atma Gauravam being upheld. True to the saying that though divided geographically, people of the two Telugu states are still united by hearts.
Andhra Pradesh government headed by Chief Minister N. Chan-drababu Naidu has decided that the name of Telangana State Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will be amo-ng the 15 to 20 names that will be written on the foundation stone plaque of Amaravati capital city.
The Chief Ministers of the two Telugu States are setting an example for people to live in harmony. While Mr Naidu chose to go in person and invite Mr Chandrasekhar Rao, the latter reciprocated by deciding to attend the event with a ministerial delegation. The TS Chief Minister had come up to the car of Mr Naidu to receive him and take him inside his office when the latter went to extend the invitation.
