Top Seema leaders to attend capital celebrations at Amaravati
Ministers are making arrangements for the grand occasion
Anantapur: Top leaders and cadres of the Telugu Desam, the BJP and other organisations from Rayalaseema are going to take part in new state capital celebrations at Amaravati.
Ministers Palle Raghunath Reddy and Paritala Sunitha are making arrangements for the grand occasion. With the state government opting for Uddandarayudipalem, the leaders however tried to satisfy pro-Rayalaseema people by claiming that the state capital site was selected as it was part of the erstwhile Vijayanagar empire, as already pro-Rayalaseema organisations and parties were strongly opposing Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu blaming him of neglecting the region and giving priority to coastal area. Further, the Centre too had apathy towards region as no package was announced to backward areas.
Soil and water as part Mana Matti-Mana Neeru programme was collected from all historical and spiritual centres by the leaders, including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers from the region. Mr Chandrababu Naidu went to Kuppam, Tirumala, Srisailam, Mantralayam and Puttapar-thi temples in region to collect the soil. “It is a festive climate for all parts of the state and we have an opportunity to build a capital of international standards,” Mr Raghunath Reddy observed.
