YouTube is making its video creators a deal they can’t refuse. Literally!
YouTube Red was unveiled in US on October 21
YouTube on October 21 unveiled a new $10-a-month subscription plan in the US called Red that combines ad-free videos, new original series and movies from top YouTubers, and on-demand unlimited streaming music.
However, the online video streaming website has made a tough deal with YouTube creators, and it hasn’t really given them a choice to disagree with. Essentially, YouTube has asked its top video creators to necessarily sign up for the YouTube Red, or else it will have their videos hidden from public view on both the ad-supported and ad-free tiers. This includes videos from top musicians, comedians, reviewers et al.
One of the reason behind being such a bully could be that YouTube wants to ensure that, this way users would have most of their favourite content also available on the ad-free service.
