Google Maps will now add navigation detours, cheapest fuel nearby
For now the Google Maps update is available only for Android users
Amsterdam: Google has announced a new update for the Google Maps on Android.
According to The Next Web, the update will arrive over the next few weeks and will allow the users to view gas stops along their route, including their price for regular-grade fuel, as well as how long much time the detour will add to their planned trip.
Also, the users can now tap a magnifying glass icon at the top right corner of their screen to pull up a few floating action buttons for potential detours. By default, it lists the aforementioned gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants and coffee shops, but the users can also find more places by typing a name or using voice commands.
There is no word on when this feature will come to Google Maps on iOS.
