Now, Andhra Pradesh to select master developers for Amaravati
A senior official said it is not a revised master plan; it is an operational plan
Hyderabad: Amaravati foundation ceremony over now the main task before the AP government is selecting the Amaravati Development Partner (master developer).
The government has decided to select the master developer under the Swiss challenge method. Before that the state government has to receive the revised master plan from Singapore. Singapore-based Surbana Company is preparing the revised master plan and the government is paying about Rs 12 crore for this. It will take three months time for the revised master plan.
A senior official said it is not a revised master plan; it is an operational plan. But according to AP Capital Region Development Authority it is a revised master plan.
After Singapore submits the revised master plan it will be put in the public domain and any objection from the public is called for. The government will give one month time for this. After that, it will issue final notification on the capital city master plan.
Another task is selection of master developer for the construction of the capital city. A senior official said that the Singapore government is preparing the proposals for master developer and it will submit it in three months. After that in the Swiss challenge method the government will call for counter proposals from other companies. If any other company submits better proposals than the Singapore government it will accept and select that company as master developer.
In a response to the CRDA notification 14 companies have submitted their proposals for the preparation of revised master plan. But CRDA told the state government that among the 14 companies none of them have suitable qualities to prepare the revised master plan and suggested it will be better to give this work to Surbana as it was involved in the preparation of the master plan.
