Telangana govt gives Rs 1,900-crore package for regular supply of water in city

HyderabadThe state government has accorded administrative sanction for a Rs 1,900-crore package for regular water supply and storage especially in the peripheral areas of the city.
 
HUDCO is providing financial assistance of Rs 1,700 crore for the Rs 1,900 crore project. The government has directed the Water Board to complete the tenders by November end. This is the fourth major announcement ahead of the GHMC polls, the others being the massive road development project, relaxation of property tax and the promise to ensure that Godavari water reaches the city by December.
 
IT minister K.T. Rama Rao said over 80 MG a day of water will serve the city by December. The remaining 45 MGD of Krishna Phase III will reach Prasansannagar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally and Serilingampally.
