TNA wrestling comes to India
The wrestling events will be broadcasted live for the first time in India on Sony Six
Hyderabad: Wrestling fans in India are in for a show as Total Nonstop Action (TNA) in association with Sony Six will conduct three TNA wrestling events in Mumbai from December 2 to 4.
The wrestling events will be broadcasted live for the first time in India on Sony Six. Speaking at the press conference here, Assistant Vice President, Marketing, Sony Six and Sony Kix Murtuza Madraswala announced the schedule and spoke of the motive behind choosing India as the preferred destination. “India is a country that has an extensive history of wrestling, with such talent in abundance. Given the national interest for the sporting event, we want to showcase consistent content along with high quality and local programming to connect with our viewers,” Madraswala said.
Also present in the conference were popular TNA wrestling stars Ethan Carter III and Rebel, who expressed their excitement about coming to India and enthralling the fans. “I am obviously very excited about coming to India in December, I love the country and the fans are very passionate about wrestling.” Rebel said when asked about her thoughts about the upcoming events in the country.
Apart from this, TNA and Sony Six announced the launch of their second talent search for India’s next wrestling star after the winner of first talent search competition — Mahbali Shera joined the TNA rooster last year. Indian wrestler Dalip Singh Rana also known by his ring name ‘The Great Khali’ is leading the talent search team.
