KOZHIKODE: Amid a raging political controversy over a covert CPM-IUML truck in Malappuram,  the IUML leadership has denied  any such deal with the CPM in the state.

IUML state president Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal told reporters here on Saturday that the IUML would not enter into any  alliance or poll adjustment with the CPM not only in Malappuram but anywhere else in the state.

“I have also come across some reports and we are sure that they  are baseless,”  he added.

The  BJP has alleged that  the CPM and the IUML are on a secret pact  in various local bodies in Malappuram.  BJP state president V. Muraleedharan and state leader K. Surendran have been repeating the charge for the last many days.

Now the CPM says that the IUML is not a communal party which is indicative of an unholy alliance taking wings in Malabar, the leaders have  alleged.
