KSRTC Sabari-Andhra services this season
Services from Peenya, Puttaparthi and Tirupati
Kochi: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation would run multi-axle Volvo services to Pampa for the first time from inter-state destinations like Peenya (Bangalore), Puttaparthi and Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) this pilgrimage season.
“The service from Peenya satellite terminal would start from November 15 while the other two services would be operated by mid-December. The agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government is being finalised while we’ve already got transit passage nod of Karnataka state,” said Mr Antony Chacko, Managing Director, KSRTC.
“We’ll also operate inter-state services to various parts of Tamil Nadu. Nearly 15 buses will be deployed to conduct services to Palani and five buses to Tenkasi from Pampa during the pilgrimage season,” a senior officer in charge of Pampa services said.
The state government is expected to allot permits to the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation for operating 20 buses from different depots to Pampa during the season.
Meanwhile, the corporation would deploy nearly 500 new buses for Pampa special schedules from various depots like Chengannur, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Kottarakkara, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Erumely, Guruvayur, Kodungallur, Oachira, and Kulathooppuzha.
“The low-floor AC bus services will be operated from Chengannur and Ernakulam depots. Online reservation facility would be available for 14 regular Pampa services besides select KURTC AC buses,” the officer said.
