Man kills wife over family tiff in Ranga Reddy

The kids were at their relative's house when the incident happened

Hyderabad: A man killed his wife after apparently falling out with her on Saturday in Dundigal. The couple had married against the wishes of their parents nearly two years ago.

Police said Sakavath Nehru, 25, and Padma, 22, natives of Mahbubnagar, where staying in a rented house in Bachupally. After a few months, Nehru resumed relations with his family and started ignoring Padma.

The couple also began quarrelling frequently. On Saturday evening, they had an argument over a petty issue and Nehru throttled her, said Dundigal inspector G. Venkateswarlu. Nehru fled from home after killing Padma.

In another incident, a man, identified as Md Iqbal, set ablaze his wife Md Naseema Begum. The couple from Kadapa had got married nearly seven years ago and had a five-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son. Police said Iqbal was unemployed and addicted to alcohol. They shifted to Vadderabasti in Nallakunta, Hyderabad, nearly a year. On October 19, Iqbal came home drunk and picked up a quarrel with Naseema and set her ablaze after pouring kerosene.

“Naseema suffered more than 60 per cent burns and was admitted to hospital. She succumbed on Saturday.” said Nallakunta inspector N. Santosh Kiran. The kids were at their relative's house when the incident happened.
