Police clueless on Dalit writer attack
Prasad had written a Kannada book, Odala Kichchu, highlighting the caste system
Bengaluru: Davangere police are still clueless about a group of miscreants who allegedly assaulted a Dalit writer for writing against Hinduism on Wednesday.
District Superintendent of Police Dr Boralingaiah said that three teams had been constituted to nab culprits. Since the complainant had not given any clues about the assailants, the team members had to start from scratch. The SP ruled out sending investigating schemes to neighboring districts in search of attackers without getting definite information about them.

“Teams are ready and it will be dispatched to other districts only after collecting definite clues,” he said. It may be mentioned here that a group of seven to eight persons, reportedly belonging to a right wing organisation, allegedly assaulted Ucchangi Prasad, a second year student of Journalism at Davangere University, for his recent book on prevailing caste system in society.
