How ‘cover girl’ Alia keeps fit
Alia Bhatt talks about her current diet plan and why she loves to be the cover girl
Even though her film Shaandaar might have been panned by critics and moviegoers alike, Alia Bhatt’s super-svelte look in it hasn’t gone unnoticed. She’s added to her legion of admirers with her bikini scene alone. The actress had worked hard on her body for the film, even flying to Austria for a detox and workout programme in August. Now, she’s continuing with the programme that helped her get toned.
“I’m a lot more comfortable now with how my body looks,” said Alia, when we met her for a chat recently. “And because of that, I’m a lot more open to experimenting with silhouettes, than I was before. As an actress, that helps. I have also been following a very specific diet and our house staff makes sure I get everything I need, according to my diet. They are in tune with whatever diet I’m following at the moment.”
Alia also shared that her current regime involves cutting out carbs on most days — although she does ensure she gets in a cheat day or two! “It’s all about will power — that’s what helps me get back to my diet after a cheat meal,” Alia said adding, “I also love dancing so that helps me in keeping fit.” Her biggest motivation by far? Looking her best for magazine cover shoots. “I’m a girl who loves being on the cover of fashion magazines! So whatever it takes, it’s worth the effort,” Alia told us.
