Small screen actor pinning hopes on films

He is also keen to explore the possibilities of acting by experimenting with taking up comic roles

Actor Vishnu, who rose to fame with soap operas like Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal and Office on Vijay TV, is now making his foray in to big screen. His first film is titled Ivan Yaarendru Therigiradha (IYT) directed by Suseenthiran’s associate TS Suresh Kumar. Speaking to DC, Vishnu says, “I began my carrer as a programme producer and I have always wanted to be an actor. IVT is about a man who was born on Valentine’s Day finding it difficult to get a girlfriend. The story goes like this — whoever I date, gets married to somebody else. So, my friends tease me a lot. Ishara Nair of Sathuranga Vettai plays my ex-girlfriend in the film and Varsha plays my lover. It’s a full-on comedy film.” 
 
On a lighter vein, Vishnu adds, “I wanted to share screen space with Nazriya; I am a huge fan of hers. But unfortunately, she got married. I know I wouldn’t be able to act with her. But at least I am glad that I am able to romance Varsha, a look alike of Nazriya.” 
 
Meanwhile, he is playing the second lead in Vimal-Anjali starrer Maapila Singam which has him essaying a naive character. Vishnu who has a couple of films in his kitty, says that he would love to strike a balance between movies and hosting reality shows. He is also keen to explore the possibilities of acting by experimenting with taking up comic roles.
