Private land for construction of 3,600 houses in the first phase
Nizamabad: Land availability for double bedroom housing scheme has turned a key issue in Nizamabad district. The officials identified around 879.35 acres government and private land for construction of 3,600 houses in the first phase. The land is mostly available on the outskirts of the towns and villages, but in few places it is not viable for the residential needs.
Earlier, in Nizamabad Municipal Corporation limits, housing officials constructed houses under Rajiv Gruhakalpa scheme at Nagaram, but it is still lying vacant. The poor and lower-middle class are unable to live in far away places due to lack of transportation. In view of previous experience, they urged the respective MLAs to find out suitable land for housing scheme.
At present, 705.24 acres land was identified in 36 mandals and 174.11 acres identified in Nizamabad Municipal Corporation, Kamareddy, Bodhan and Armoor municipal towns for double bedroom housing scheme. Speaking to this newspaper, G. Gangaram of Morthad said that housing scheme will be successful if the suitable land was identified for the construction.
