Tasmac outlet burgled in Vellore

VELLORE: Burglars broke open a state-run Tasmac retail wine shop in Perumugai on Saturday night and decamped with Rs 1.55 lakh cash kept in a box and also took away 143 costly liquor bottles.

The shop had reported good sales in the last two days after Ayudha Puja celebration was over, sources said.

According to Sathuvachari Police sources, following the complaint made by the salesman of the Tasmac shop, it was found that pricey liquor bottles had gone missing along with the cash when the reconciling of the stock registers was done by its staff.

A special police team has been formed at the instruction of S.P. Senthilkumari to nab the culprits, sources added.
