Fusion Solar sets up 4 MW solar plant in Telangana

Hyderabad-based Fusion Solar has set up a 4 mw solar plant at Macherla village in the Mahabubnagar district of Telangana. This is the first phase of the project and another 4 mw would be added in the second phase.

In all, it would see an investment of Rs 60 crore, including Rs 40 crore in the first phase, according to Fusion Solar chairman and managing director Suresh Babu Sadineni.

Sadineni said it would deploy a single axis sun tracking system, which would make the plant efficient. It would supply the power to a private party in Hyderabad for 10 years.

It would have to pay the wheeling charges and transmission losses to the state for using the grid.

The company was awaiting the approvals for the second phase and was ready to take it up shortly, he said. The company was also looking to set up a 7 mw plant in Andhra Pradesh and could see an investment of another Rs 40 crore. A group of non-resident Indians are investing in the projects, he said.

Currently, it would import the solar modules and integrate them here. In the long run, it would look to set up a module making unit when it attains scale. The solar power is attaining grid parity in terms of cost, he said.
