Chennai: Five-year-old Pakistan girl Basma Mohammad Faisal is likely to arrive here on Tuesday to undergo liver transplant at a corporate hospital. A team of liver transplant experts including paediatric liver surgeon would assess the condition of Basma who is suffering from chronic liver disease before taking up the transplant. They would also take a call on whether she could wait for a matching donor or require live donor (a relative), said sources at Global Health City.  It may be recalled that Union external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj had facilitated issuance of visa for Basma’s surgery in Chennai on humanitarian grounds.
