MumbaiAfter the 214-run loss to South Africa at Wankhede stadium here in the series decider on Sunday, Indian team Director Ravi Shastri took a dig at pitch curator Sudhir Naik, which apparently has offended the latter. BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur said they would get into the details of the incident.

“There are rules and regulations in place for everyone and there is no separate yard-stick for anyone. We will look into the matter and accordingly decide. We can’t take any immediate action,” said Thakur at the official unveiling of Vivo, the premium Chinese smart phone manufacturer as the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League for the next two seasons.

Thakur reiterated that they will implement the Lodha Committee recommendations fully and will announce the new two IPL franchises after the AGM on November 9. “We will implement Lodha Committee recommendations in toto. The two teams (CSK, RR) remain suspended for two years.

“Their replacements will be announced after the AGM. Players will go back into the pool. We are awaiting the guidelines in the detailed report and will discuss them at the AGM,” he said.

Thakur admitted the series’ loss to South Africa in both T20I’s and ODI’s was unfortunate and BCCI will look into it. “The team management always go into details before and after the game regardless of whether we win or lose. After every selection committee meeting we talk about the future and current players. Unfortunately we lost the T20 and ODI series to South Africa.

“The ODI series was interesting before we lost the decider at Wankhede. I am sure we will recover well in time before the Twenty20 World Cup,” he added.  The HPCA President felt they have been on a successful path to recreate the credibility of IPL.
