Hyderabad: With more than thousands of successful soundtracks to her credit, and many more in Kannada light music - Manjula Gururaj has been a prominent playback singer for the past three decades in Kannada film industry. Unlike many singers with such successful career, Manjula Gururaj chose to start an exclusive music school for aspiring talents – Sadhana Music School (SMS), which has been churning out talented singers and musicians for the last 25 years. The latest being Mrs Chitra Jeetendra who after five years of sheer hard work, learning singing under her master Manjula Gururaj has come out with a solo debut audio album Bhajan Mala based on the bhajans of saints Meera Bhai, Tulsidas, Kabir Das and Brahmanandam. Manjula Gururaj has composed the music for her student's album.
“This is my 14 album as a composer, and my first ever was the Bhavageetha Guccha for which Prof Doddarange Gowda had penned the lyrics. Presently, we are conducting classes for all age groups especially we have exclusive batches for housewives. I must congratulate persons like Jeetendra who support their better halves in fulfilling their dreams. Most of the female aspiring singers stop singing once they get married. Not surprisingly, there are more number of such students learning professional singing in Sadhana Music School,” says Mrs Manjula Gururaj. Indeed, the veteran singer has been a true inspiration to many through her music school.
