Hyderabad High Court sets aside NTR University plea to conduct examinations
While holding the action of the NTR University as going against the regulations, the judge directed the varsity to conduct fresh examination

Hyderabad: Justice A. Ramalingeswara Rao of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday set aside the action of the NTR University of Health Sciences in conducting the M.D. (Anesthesia) Final Year practical and oral examinations and Diploma DA (Anesthesia) Clinical and Oral examinations for not following PG Medical Education Regulations-2000.
The judge was allowing two petitions by Dr Jamalpur Sravan Kumar and 13 other civil assistant surgeons from TS and Dr Samhitha, a psychiatrist of Deccan Medical College. K. Simhadri, counsel appearing for the petitioners, informed the court that as per regulations 14.1(b) and 14(2) of PG Medical Education Regulations, two sets of internal examiners were required to hold the examinations.
But the varsity had conducted the examinations between May 12 and 15 at Osmania Medical College and had declared the results between June 23 and July 3, 2015 without following the regulations. He said that due to the error, 16 of the 32 candidates who appeared for the Post Graduate degree examination in anesthesia and also the Diploma course had failed despite qualifying in theory exams. While holding the action of the NTR University as going against the regulations, the judge directed the varsity to conduct fresh examinations.
