BENGALURU: On being denied another term in Legislative Council, former RSS pracharak G. Madhusudhan has dashed off a 10-page letter to BJP president Pralhad Joshi, requesting him to reconsider the decision to field a new face.  Mr. Madhusudhan has, however, criticized party leadership for denying him a ticket.

The letter states, “during the recent core committee meeting, you (Pralhad Joshi) informed other members that Madhusudhan has agreed to the party’s decision to give a ticket to M.V. Ravishankar. He has congratulated Ravishankar in this regard. Your opinion was far from truth and complete imagination. You, party organizing secretary and vice president and remaining members of the core committee, should have shown minimum courtesy of seeking my opinion before denying me a ticket. I have raised many issues in the Council. To accomplish my task, give me another term and revise your decision.” Further, Mr. Madhusudhan denied allegations that he was the cause for defeat of former minister S.A. Ramadas in 2013 Assembly elections. “I have launched a struggle to recover government land in Kurubarahalli in Chamundi hills, but in that episode the behavior of Mr Ramadas was strange,” he said adding that Mr Joshi should pave the way for Lingayat strongmen B.S. Yeddyurappa to take over as state unit president.  He, however, vowed not to contest as an independent or quit the party but remain a loyal worker.

Sources close to Mr. Madhusudhan, however, told this newspaper that as he was diehard supporter of Mr Yeddyurappa, the leaders blocked his candidature. “Mr Madhusudhan advocated the return of Mr. Yeddyurappa as state unit president. It was the state unit president, organizing secretary and Union minister Ananth Kumar who blocked the candidature of former RSS pracharak,” sources added.
