Mumbai: In the last fortnight, bating great Sachin Tendulkar has seen two of his India buddies announce retirement. Ironically, during the same period, Tendulkar has picked up his bat again and is slowly getting into the rewind mode. With just 10 days left for his Cricket All-Stars T20 league, the Master Blaster has reopened his kit bag. “It’s nice. I am wearing the same leg guard I wore in my last innings at Wankhede. As and when I get close to my kit bag I remember all those things,” he said during his nets session at the BKC here in Mumbai.

Tendulkar admitted he had to once again keep a check on his diet. “I could eat whatever I wanted to, before that I had to think twice but not anymore. Now, I wanted to lose some weight so I had to check my diet.” He however added that he would not be stretching himself fully.

The 42-year-old, who was at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday to watch the final match said, AB de Villiers deserved all the praise Asked if ABD was ahead of his time, Tendulkar said, “Yes, he is. Absolutely! Maybe he is possibly at the peak of his career. He is really, really batting unbelievably well and it seems that he has got more time than anyone else.”
