7 killed, 4 critical as truck rams into another in Odisha
Inspector Alok Jena said efforts were being made to indentify the deceased
Berhampur: At least seven people were on Thursday killed, while four others were critically injured after a speeding truck hit another truck near Randa square in Ganjam, Odisha.
The terrible accident happened under Golanthara police station when the driver of a speeding truck lost control and hit a vegetable laden truck that was being unloaded by labourers.
Six people were killed on the spot, while another person died in hospital. The injured people were first rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur. However, they were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, as their condition deteriorated.
Inspector Alok Jena of Golanthara police station who immediately rushed to the spot said efforts were being made to indentify the deceased.
“All the injured have been sent to hospital for treatment. We are trying to identify the deceased and inform their relatives,” Mr Jena said.
