Hyderabad: A businessman of Banjara Hills has alleged that his wife, their son and driver were responsible for the theft of Rs 3 lakh and gold jewellery from his home. Ramesh Dhir alleged that his wife Monika did not allow him to open the almirah and with the help of his son Rahul and driver Muthu removed the gold and cash from their home. Police is investigating the case. Ramesh Kumar Dhir, a 64-year-old businessman, is a resident of Surabhi Enclave on Road No: 14 in the Banjara Hills area.

On Tuesday at around 7 pm he asked his wife Monika to give the almirah keys and she refused. On Wednesday morning when he checked for his son Rahul at home he was told that Rahul had left for Mumbai. Ramesh became suspicious and on checking found that the almirah lock had been changed. Ramesh came to know from the watchman that his wife and Rahul with the help of driver Muthu changed the almirah lock. Ramesh asked his wife for keys to take money from the almirah to buy medicine but she did not give it to him.

“When I insisted she opened the almirah. I was shocked to see Rs 3 lakh in cash and 80 tolas of gold ornaments missing,” said Mr Ramesh.

Ramesh, in his complaint, said that he suspected his wife Monika, son Rahul, driver Muthu and his brother-in-law Kamlesh Bhandari for the missing cash and gold.

Police suspect family problems behind the allegations made by Ramesh.

“We are verifying details. Based on investigation we will take action,” police said.
