Patna: Hyderabad MP and MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi was detained over an inflammatory speech against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Purnea on Wednesday.

As per reports, after staying in the police station for about an hour he was released on bail. Mr Owaisi had allegedly made “derogatory” remarks against the Prime Minister during the Kishangunj rally on October 22.

However, his state unit chief Akhtarul Imam denied the arrest terming it as a “rumour” but sources in Purnea confirmed that Mr Owaisi who has been continuously campaigning in the area was picked up by the local police from Baisi village in Purnea district following a complaint.
