Woman, child found dead on railway track at Shamshabad
The victims had gone into a wooded area to collect wood in the morning
Hyderabad: A 26-year-old woman and her child were found dead on the railway tracks at Shamshabad on Tuesday night. Railway Police said the deaths were accidental and that they were hit by a running train while crossing the tracks.
The victims had gone into a wooded area to collect wood in the morning. The victim, S. Seema, and her four-year-old kid Sheik Jahangir were found on the railway tracks between Timmapur and Umdanagar by locals.
“It looked like they were hit by a high speed train. The bodies were cut and had major injuries. Both of them must have died on the spot,” said an official from the Kacheguda police station.
Seema, who is the wife of Sheikh Hameed, was working as a labourer. She had gone out from her house in Tondapally village to collect wood in the morning. As she did not come back locals and relatives started a search and found the bodies.
Cops said the area is porous with no fences to check people from crossing the railway tracks. Police booked a case under CrPC 174 for suspicious death.
