Hyderabad: Opposition party MLAs are unhappy with the way the boundaries of the GHMC wards have been marked. They state that wards that have strong TDP, BJP support have not been scientifically divided. Citing the example of KPHB 114 ward, which is densely populated with TDP supporters (settlers), an Opposition MLA said, “All wards are divided into four sections — North, East, West and South, but in a zigzag manner. Earlier it was done in a clockwise manner so that all colonies fell under one ward. For example, the KPHB ward starts from Road no 6 (VRK Silks ) and proceeds up to LIG 10 and takes a turn towards west and runs up to LIG 86 and turns south and runs along the road up to EWS 12333. Firstly it has been done in a zigzag manner, no colony names have been mentioned. The boundaries divide one colony into different sections, this also cuts away certain areas. It can be recalled that the Kukatpally constituency had elected a TDP MLA who had later joined the TRS.”
Quthbullapur TD MLA K.P. Vivekananda said, “The boundaries have been marked keeping in mind the minority votes to benefit MIM and have divided the settlers area. KPHB east division and Moosapet west section have the same boundary, when Moosapet is a different division itself. Also, KPHB is sharing a boundary with Motinagar when there is no need.
