Fashion week fail

Organisers cancel Hyderabad Fashion Week’s grand finale

Participants are planning to take legal action if payments don't arrive by Tuesday.
Friday was supposed to be the grand finale for the three-day-long Hyderabad Fashion Week. But, it’s now all over! Models have already left the city and what remains behind are people wondering when dues will be paid — they have been promised payment by Tuesday.

Choreographer Lokesh, who flew out on Saturday, says, “After the shows stopped, we were waiting for our payments. Initially that didn't happen, but now we have received word that we’ll be paid by Tuesday, so we are all looking forward to that.” The team, however, do plan to take action if the organisers don’t keep their word.

Also, over 30 students from Hamstech Institute of Fashion and Interior Design were left without transport despite a clause stating they will be dropped home if employed beyond 10pm. “On Day 1, they did, but not on Day 2. And that’s when we sensed something was wrong. We told the students to book cabs and that we took care of the expenses,” says says Ajitha Reddy, director of Hamstech.
