Kottayam: CPM politburo  member Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday  demanded the resignation of Finance Minister K.M. Mani from the ministry.  Speaking at an election meeting at Thirunakkara Maidan here,  Mr Vijayan said that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was trying to protect Mr Mani despite the Vigilance court order that he was prima facie guilty in the bar bribe case.

“In the course of the  inquiry, the Vigilance did not give a clean chit to Mr Mani and so he should resign,” Mr Vijayan said and asked why people like Mr A.K. Antony were not responding to  the issue.

Coming down heavily on the  RSS,  he said that it was  using beef  to unleash communalism in the country.
