KC Abu to get CPM’s defamation notice
The land was sold to a company called Vyapari Trust Centre
KOZHIKODE: CPM district secretariat will file a defamation suit against District Congress Committee president K C Abu, who had alleged corruption in the Comtrust land deal and accused CPM of stashing crores of black money in to its account from the deal.
CPM Kozhikode district secretary P Mohanan said Abu had raised baseless allegations and unless he publicly offer an apology party will go to any extend to penalize him.
VKC Mammad Koya, an LDF candidate and a front runner to the Mayor’s post, who according to Abu purchased the property at a reduced rate, Abu should convene a press meet and admit that what he had said was a mistake.
CPM leader said Abu had come out with a plan to tarnish the image of CPM leaders personally due to fear of losing the elections.
“The land was sold to a company called Vyapari Trust Centre. This company is owned by about 300 small traders and VKC Mammad Koya is just a share holder among them and the elected chairman. The plan is to start a tourism institute for the students,” Mohanan said.
Mohanan said it is not the habit of CPM to engage in land deals and make money out of it and the entire Kozhikode people know that KC Abu had been doing that.
“The land will be handed over to the government when it demands the land for development of Comtrust,” Mohanan added.
Abu on Thursday had convened a press meet at Kozhikode and alleged that CPM labour union had sold the Comtrust land to VKC at a reduced price and earned several crores in commission. He had alleged that CPM had collected several crores as black money in this deal.
