Kerala police finally nab 23-year-old con woman
According to police sources, she was being interrogated after being nabbed from Bengaluru
ALAPPUZHA: Saranya, a 23-year-old woman from Panoor, Thrikunapuzha near Kayamkulam who conned several people to the tune of Rs 2 crore by offering jobs in police department, has reportedly landed in police custody.
According to police sources, she was being interrogated after being nabbed from Bengaluru. “She was on the run ever since her parents and a relative were arrested by police on Tuesday”, they said.
When contacted, S Devamanohar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kayamkulam, would only say that she would be arrested “anytime from now”. Police cast its net with the support of cyber cell to track down the accused who had been using different mobile phones in and out of the state.
Sources said Sharanya had cheated at least 100 people offering jobs to various posts in police department by posing as personal security staff member of Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala.
The drama unfolded after a youth from Puthuppally near Kayamkulam lodged a police complaint.
