Teacher dies while watching horror film
He was found dead by the theatre staff after the movie got over
Hyderabad: A 55-year-old private tuition teacher died while watching a horror film in a theatre on Friday. C. Amarnath from Attapur, had come to watch the morning show of the Telugu horror movie Raju Gari Gadi.
He was found dead by the theatre staff after the movie got over. Amarnath was a private tutor, as is his son. His elder daughter had allegedly committed suicide a year ago due to harassment from her in-laws. Since then, he had been depressed, said sources.
Audience thought he was sleeping
C. Amarnath, 55, the private tutor who died while watching a horror movie, would often come alone to the Metro Theatre at Bahadurpura to watch movies.
For Friday morning’s show, there were only 20 or so people in the hall. Sources said that he had gone out during the interval but did not get up after the movie got over. Others thought that he was sleeping and left the hall.
“He might have died due to a cardiac arrest. The theatre staff who were cleaning the hall after the show, found him in the seat. They realised that he was dead and informed the police,” said Bahadurpura inspector Harish Kaushik.
Based on a complaint by the theatre manager Ameer, a case under Section 174 has been registered and the body shifted for post-mortem.
