AP plans to write to TS chief secretary on vacation of the chambers in AP Secretariat

Hyderabad: All the government departments of Telangana are functioning from the Telangana Secretariat except the state vigilance commission which is working from Andhra Pradesh Secretariat. It has been six months since the vigilance commission has also been split.

The AP government has appointed retired IAS officer S.V. Prasad as state vigilance commissioner and Telangana government has appointed retired IPS officer K.R. Nandan as it vigilance commissioner. However, even after formation of separate vigilance commission for Telangana, the state office is still working from the AP Secretariat. The Andhra Pradesh and Telangana vigilance commissions are located on the first floor of North-H block, opposite each other in the AP Secretariat.

The AP government has appointed Krishna Kishore as CEO to Economic Development Board (EDB) and he has taken charge just recently. However, he has not been allotted any chamber in the AP Secretariat and he is working from the AP finance principal secretary P.V. Ramesh's chambers in North-H block. It is because there are no chambers remaining on the first floor to allot to the CEO of EDB.

On knowing that the Telangana vigilance commission office was working from the AP Secretariat, the latter has decided to write to the Telangana Chief Secretary asking for vacation of the chambers. Once vacated, the chambers will be allotted to the CEO of EDB. Post bifurcation, all the government buildings have been divided between both the states. The staff in the offices have also been divided.
