It was a nostalgic moment for yesteryear’s top heroines and popular playback singers when they met to pay a musical tribute to late legendary composer MS Viswanathan. The show titled Engeyum Eppothum organised by ACE Events, which is the first line of the maestro’s evergreen number from the film Ninaithaale Inikkum saw many celebrities attending it.  Melody Queen P. Susheela shared the stage along with yesteryear stars including Saroja Devi, Jamuna, Sachchu and other noted singers like LR Eswari, Sirgazhi Siva Chidambaran and Chinni Jayanth.

The highlight of the evening was that even as P. Susheela rendered some of her chartbuster numbers featuring Saroja Devi, Jamuna and Sachchu, which were composed by MSV, the trio lip-synched and emoted along, much to the delight of the audiences.

Actor Chinni Jayanth who turned playback singer recently, who sang the TM Soundarrajan song Naan Oru Kuzhandai Nee Oru Kuzhandai said, “MSV as a musician had a reputation of making actors too sing.” He also mentioned that he had the blessing of  performing in front of MSV himself.
