Sofi picked 4 for 37 in Hyderabad’s first innings while Rohit bagged 4 for 78

Hyderabad: Hyderabad found themselves in a pickle by the end of the third day’s play during their Group ‘C’ Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, on Sunday.
The hosts, who had resumed the day on 113 for 2 in pursuit of J&K’s mammoth 460, were bowled out for 280. Tanmay Agarwal (71) and southpaw B. Sandeep (68 not out) did their utmost to take Hyderabad to a better total, but their teammates failed them.
Visiting skipper Mithun Manhas didn’t hesitate in enforcing the follow-on. And his decision paid off almost immediately when the hosts lost two quick wickets — openers Akshath Reddy and Tanmay — with the score on just 13.
However, captain G.H. Vihari staged a fightback along with Danny Derek Prince as the duo helped Hyderabad to safer waters (122 for 2) by stumps. Vihari will walk down to the crease on the final day on 46 while Danny will resume on 56.
Right-arm medium pacers Rohit Sharma and Zahoor Sofi were the standout bowlers for the visiting side. Sofi picked 4 for 37 in Hyderabad’s first innings while Rohit bagged 4 for 78. In the home side’s second essay, Rohit and Ram Dayal snapped up a wicket each.
