Hyderabad: Chain-snatchers on Monday targeted two women and escaped with 50 gram gold. While a lone snatcher struck at MES Colony in Alwal, two people on a red colour Pulsar targeted a victim at Kothapet in the city.

The first incident occurred at around 10.45, when the victim, 51-year-old Indira, was walking to a kirana shop from her house. “The chain-snatcher, who came on a bike, slowed down near her, and fled with chain after snatching it,” said Alwal police inspector Mr S.V. Hari Krishna.

Though the victim raised alarm, he could not be caught as the area was deserted. She lost her 20 gram gold chain. At Kothapet, two people approached the victim D. Sumathi, 41, and escaped with 30 gram gold chain.

Police have started investigation into both the cases on the basis of complaints filed by the victims.
