THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After the first phase of  elections to the local bodies on Monday, the Congress leaders expressed their  optimism that the UDF will romp home with a good majority.  Senior  leader A. K. Antony  said UDF would perform better than in Aruvikkara. 

PCC president V. M. Sudheeran claimed  that the corruption allegations would have no impact.

Mr Antony told  the media after casting his vote with his wife Elizabeth Antony and KPCC vice-president M. M. Hassan and his wife A. K. Rahia at the Jagathy High School here  that  the situation in Kerala was  favourable for the UDF government.
