Rishi Kapoor says he has no award to return, is against 'award wapsi'

The act of returning National Awards has gained a lot of criticism across the country

Mumbai: The decision of a motley group of 10 filmmakers to return their National Awards as a form of protest has ganied a lot of criticism across the country and film industry. 'Award wapsi' has turned into a fierce debate on 'intolerance' and Rishi Kapoor has voiced his opinion on the same. He took to Twitter to announce that he has no award to return because his work has been overlooked by successive governments.
 
Rishi, went on to add that he indeed does have a National Award which he won for 'Mera Naam Joker', but he credits it to his father Raj Kapoor, who starred in and directed the film.  
 
On Monday, Shah Rukh Khan said that it was "really brave" of the filmmakers to return their awards but he himself would choose another form of protest like a strike or march. The act has been looked down upon by Kamal Haasan, winner of four National Awards and Vidya Balan, who won an award for 'Dirty Picture'.
