After a short sabbatical, director Blessy is back in action. This time, he will be doing a movie based on the award-winning novel Aadujeevitham (Goat Days), written by Benyamin.
Actor Prithviraj will be playing the central character Najeeb in the movie. The official announcement of the movie will take place on November 5 in Kuwait. Confirming the news, Blessy says, “This thread has been in my mind for some time, and I have tried to work on it. But, the movie didn’t happen. Right now, I cannot divulge many details about the movie.” Blessy’s previous movie was Kalimannu starring Shwetha Menon and Biju Menon in the lead.
It took two years to Benyamin to complete Aadujeevitham that depicts the struggles of a Malayali migrant worker in Saudi Arabia. He was inspired by a real life character to write this novel. It was through one of his friends that Benyamin met Najeeb, and after listening to his story, he felt like penning it down. He learnt about his lifestyle and putting himself into Najeeb’s shoes, he wrote Aadujeevitham, Benyamin had said. The novel won critical acclaim and also bagged the Kerala Sahithya Akademi award.
