A constable opens fire at Vanasthalipuram

Hyderabad: Vanasthalipuram special teams are scouring big and small hospitals in the city and outskirts to see if the chain-snatchers had come for treatment. The constable, who fired at the offenders, felt that one bullet must have hit the pillion rider on the back.

The police constable, who is a member of the Anti Chain Snatching squad, told senior officials that one bullet might have hit the back of the offender, while another bullet missed the target.

“We are enquiring with the hospitals to find out if one of the offenders was admitted,” said an official adding that they were not sure about the injury yet. The motorbike used by the offenders did not have a number plate. Cops suspect that the bike could have been stolen from somewhere by the snatchers.
