Ali Fazal dares to bare for Web film

Ali Fazal’s Web film Bang Baaja Baaraat that just launched its first episode had some good feedback coming in. The film has been produced by Y-Films, a division of Yash Raj Films and directed by Anand Tiwari.

We hear the actor has shot some steamy sequences for the film with co-star Angira Dhar, that featured in the first episode itself. Speaking of it Ali says, “Anand was very clear about choreographing the lovemaking scene and it was the most mechanical scene in the film. I was, till the last minute, questioning why are we doing it. I was the shy boy in this.  It was supposed to be spontaneous but it was very mechanical.”

He also had a good experience working with Angira. “She was with MTV when the VJs of MTV were ruling the roost. She’s from that time. It was good to know her and be able to work with her,” Ali says.

The team is going all out to promote the film, episodes of which will be released every Tuesday. “It has been shot like a proper film in 11 days. The producers made no compromises. It was an experiment and I am happy that people are liking it,” Ali says. The film also has Rajit Kapoor, Shernaz Patel, Gajraj Rao, Ayesha Raza and Neil Bhoopalam as part of his cast.

This is the second successful attempt of Y-Films after their first web series Man’s World. Producer Ashish Patil said, “We are experimenting and I hope people like it. We have just started and there is no business model to this as of now. We are looking at coming up with more number of series. There are lots of interesting ideas in the pipeline.”
